At Kvitfjell Ski Resort you will find slopes for the elite and slopes for beginners in a unique atmosphere of comfort and coziness.

The snow in the mountains of Gudbrandsdalen is guaranteed. Kvitfjell Ski Resort is one of the first ski resorts to open each year, and among the last to close. You can be sure there is always enough snow to play in.

Kvitfjell is famous for the green, wide slopes where children and beginners can enjoy themselves, and also the black slopes with Olympic standards. It is in this mountain Kjetil Jansrud trained to become the world's best alpinist. Every winter he and the rest of the world’s alpine elite comes to Kvitfjell to train for, and compete in the World Cup in downhill and super-g.

Family friendly

The whole family can enjoy themselves in Kvitfjell. Children’s areas can be found on both sides of the mountain, with lifts and slopes well adapted for the children's best ski experience. Try the slalom course where children can turn between soft shapes, or become part of the Junior Ski Patrol.

KIDS Skitorget

KIDS Skitorget is our family area at Kvitfjell west. Here you can find an 80 meter long magic carpet lift, a platter lift for kids, KIDS terrain park, the KIDS World Cup slope and a BBQ hut. Skitorget is located nearby with all service facilities needed.

KIDS GudbrandsGard

KIDS GudbrandsGard is the place to be for kids at the mid station. KIDS Gudbrandsgard has 2 magic carpet lifts, 3 slopes for beginners, a platter lift, a forest slope and a small warming lounge.

KIDS World Cup

Kids World Cup is a part of KIDS Skitorget. The slope is a miniature version of the well-known Olympic slope at the other side of the mountain. How fast can you ski? Have your speed measured and download the photo of you skiing the KIDS World Cup at

Junior Ski Patrol

Join the Junior Ski Patrol. This is fun work with no responsibilities and great perks! Pick up your uniform and other necessary equipment at the ski rentals on the mid station or the west side.



Kvitfjells three mountain sides

The middle station (east side), offers accommodation with great view over Gudbrandsdalen. Here you can find ski rental, a sports shop, ticket sale, Plaza Ski Cafe, Koia Afterski, Børson Grocery Shop, Fôr Restaurant, KIDS Gudbrandsgard, and the Olympic Slope. GudbrandsGard Hotel both looks and feels like a modern version of a royal palace from the Norwegian folk tales, and is located in the heart of Kvitfjell with ski-in, ski-out to the slopes. The hotel has two nice restuarants, serving local ingredients with inspiration from all the corners of the world.

The west side of the mountain is called the ”sunny side”. The west side accommodation with great sun conditions and immediate access to beautiful nature. The skiing on the west side are varied and family friendly with green, blue and some red slopes. Skitorget has all service facilities like ski rental, sports shop, the restaurant Gondolen Fjellbistro, and ticket sale. The popular restaurant Tyrihanstunet is situated on the west side.

Kvitfjell’s other KIDS area – wide slopes and easy lifts are at the bottom of the west side. Try the green terrain park especially designed for small park enthusiasts or try the children’s own world cup slope. The mini version of the world cup slope has a real start port, gates and timing. Be an alpine star for a day and challenge family and friends in the KIDS World Cup slope! The children’s area on the west side will be expanded with a new carpet lift for next season.

When the children want bigger challenges, they can try out Kvitfjell’s terrain parks with jumps and rails in all shapes, sizes, and degrees of difficulty. The park is also known for being adventurous, playful and ready for new jumps and tricks every day. Kvitfjellparken is situated on the west side.

Kvitfjell Varden opened in the 17/18 season. Varden is Kvitfjells newest mountainside with 5 kilometers of especially family-friendly slopes perfect for beginners. Varden has a new chairlift and new, nice cabins for rent right next to the ski slopes. Varden is connected to the west side by a short gondola.

Kvitfjell is a place for enjoyment and relaxation. Relax in front of the fireplace, in the cabin with the family, in the lounge at GudbrandsGard hotel, in the pool, at the spa or at one of the child-friendly restaurants. Kvitfjell is proud to be a destination free from junk- and deep fried food. Instead, Kvitfjell offers exciting food at all eateries inspired by Gudbrandsdalen’s lush hillsides. There are service locations on both sides of the mountain, where you can rent your skis or get lift tickets.

How to get here - Travelling to Kvitfjell

Kvitfjell lies just 40 km north of Lillehammer and 240 km north of Oslo. Easily accessible by bus, train and car the resort is ca. 200 km north of Oslo airport.  The closest train station is Ringebu, from there Kvitfjell is just a short taxi ride away.

By car

The drive from Oslo is straightforward and quick. Once on the E6 or Rv4 it takes about 3 hours to get to Kvitfjell.
